School & course information

Castanea is a small but high-quality learning centre open all-year-round and attended by students of all ages coming from all over the world.

The Centre offers Italian language courses for both groups - with a maximum of 6 students - and individuals, with timetables and programmes to be agreed.

The standard language course consists of 10 hours of lessons per week for the number of weeks chosen by the student and is taught by Professor Sandra Radicchi, a specialist in teaching Italian to foreigners. Lessons take place from Monday to Friday and are normally held in the morning.

Once again with the aim of learning Italian, the Centre also offers culture courses on:

  • food and wine: products and dishes of Italian and local cuisine;
  • food and wine: language and history of Italian and Tuscan cuisine;
  • the language of wine;
  • the language and heritage associated with the chestnut;
  • local traditions and festivals;
  • art history;
  • the language of Italian operas;
  • a journey into Italian literature: Tuscan writers.
